Fury

Engine steam froths like venom,
Synaptic flames lick the horizon,
Landscape cuts the clouds in half
And crickets wake to fury.

Esteem is for older brothers,
The poet woefully writes,
And cargo is a useless weight
In the fight for basic rights.

Plight spreads roots
Like a tall and gnarly tree,
Cracks and crumbles white cement
Strength in a single seed.

Water falls from ether sky
Cleansing the air of fury
Bat wings splash the liquid light
Sucking the nectar from cloud-black night
